Answer 1:
I was employed for about four years as an officer on cruise ships! In my early 20's I worked for Carnival Cruise Lines as a purser aboard the Festival in the Caribbean, cruising weekly to San Juan, St. Thomas, and Nassau. But the second ship I worked on was my favorite - the Independence in the beautiful Hawaiian islands. I spent over three years spent sailing between Honolulu, Maui, Hilo, Kona, and Kauai. I balanced the ship's finances by night and explored the islands by day: scuba diving, sailing, golfing, windsurfing, and sliding down waterfalls. I never slept but I had great adventures!
Answer 2:
When I worked at Hoffa Chodak & Robiner, a law firm in Detroit, one of the partners was Jimmy Hoffa, Jr., son to the infamous Jimmy Hoffa!
Answer 3:
Traveling is one of my greatest passions. When I was a little girl, my dad gave me a giant spinning globe with raised mountains. I spent hours sitting on a grassy knoll outside my house spinning the globe and with eyes shut, placing my finger on the map to see where I would travel one day. After high school I attended travel school for a year, then became a travel agent. It was during my stint as an agent when I fell in love with cruising and pursued a job on ships. Through the years I've traveled independently and with mission teams. I backpacked Europe for four months, been to most of the States including Alaska and Hawaii, along with Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, the Galapagos Islands, many places in Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean, Dubai, and Japan (3 times!). The Lord has created a big, beautiful world filled with interesting people and cultures, and I intend to continue traveling as long as I am able.
Answer 4:
The thing I enjoy most is serving the Lord, whether through leading mission teams, volunteering with outreach projects, or writing inspirational stories. Traveling, photography, reading, writing, hiking, kayaking, and anything else outdoors are other fun pasttimes of mine.
Answer 5:
Change is exciting and a great learning opportunity, so I thrive on it. I've been blessed to have worn many different hats over the years: chef, banking, front desk clerk at a Marineland hotel, legal secretary, travel agent, purser, literary agent, real estate agent, owned and operated a child care and preschool while my kids were growing up, screenwriter, producer, co-director, and paralegal. Oh, and once I worked at a pet store giving the cats and dogs their shots.
Answer 6:
Ice cream, of course. Isn't that everyone's favorite? So refreshing, so many flavors...
Answer 7:
Christian living books by descriptive writers such as Max Lucado that encourage me in my walk of faith. As far as fiction books, I enjoy a good thriller/mystery or any well-written story.
Answer 8:
Ha, ha! While I tell each of my children that he or she is my favorite (I have two girls and a boy), my love overflows for all of them the same. A mother loves equally (this one at least), just in different ways. My oldest daughter is a missionary and English teacher in Japan and I love her sense of adventure and the way she learns everything about something that holds her interest. My other daughter is my fun-loving, creative spirit with a dazzling smile that draws everyone in, and my son is incredibly smart (majoring in Engineering and minoring in Computer Science smart), and good at whatever he tries. All three share my love for traveling and helping others - they are my world. Though I might love whoever builds me a mother-in-law suite just a little more.
Answer 9:
The Lord Jesus Christ, of course. Through His Word I learn how to live life and stand strong through trials. Because of His everlasting love for me, I can love others.
